What carries over
Drag‑to‑group, tab reordering, drag‑out‑to‑detach and mixed‑app groups all work the way you remember them. ⌃Tab cycling is there too, switched off until you ask for it — on a Mac that shortcut belongs to the app you are in.
What is different
Windows lets one app adopt another app’s window handle. macOS does not, so Tack composites the tab strip above your windows and drives them through the Accessibility API. Same behaviour, different mechanism.

Tack is not a tiling window manager. It will not rearrange your desktop, replace Mission Control, or ask you to disable SIP. It groups the windows you pick and leaves the rest alone.

Does it work with any app?−
Any app with regular windows — editors, terminals, browsers, design tools, Electron apps. Tack talks to windows through the system Accessibility API, so it does not need per-app support.
Why does Tack need Accessibility permission?+
Moving and arranging other applications’ windows is only possible with the Accessibility permission. Tack uses it for exactly that — it never reads your content.
What happens when the trial ends?+
Tack stops grouping until you buy it. Your windows are never held hostage — everything simply ungroups.
How many Macs can I use it on?+
One purchase activates up to 3 Macs. Moving to a new Mac beyond that? Email support@pinyridgelabs.com and I will free up a slot.
Does it work with multiple displays and Spaces?+
Yes. Groups live on the display and Space where you made them, and tab strips account for the notch. Sessions restore after a restart, rebuilt from the applications already running; Settings can turn that off.
Can Tack group windows automatically?+
Yes. Grouping rules (Settings → Rules) match an app by bundle ID or a window by title, and either auto‑group its new windows or exclude it from automation. Rules that share a group label keep windows of different apps together in one group — and can create that group when its windows appear. There’s also a one‑switch option to auto‑group new windows of any app already in a group. Everything ships off, so nothing groups until you say so.
Can I change how the tab bar looks?+
Yes — Settings → Appearance has color themes for the tabs plus corner radius, font size and bar height, so the strip can sit as quietly or as boldly on your windows as you like.
Is this like Groupy on Windows?+
Yes — the same idea, built natively for macOS. If you used Groupy on Windows and missed tabbed window groups after switching to a Mac, Tack is that: drag any windows together and they become one tabbed group.
