The short version: Tack has no analytics, no tracking, and no accounts. Everything below is the complete list of data that ever leaves your Mac.
Update checks. The app periodically fetches
tack.pinyridgelabs.com/appcast.xml to learn whether a newer version
exists. This is an ordinary HTTPS request; we do not attach an identifier to it.
License activation. When you activate a license key, the app sends the key and your Mac's computer name (so you can recognize it later) to our license server. We store the key, the activation date, and that name. Validation checks send the key and its activation id. That's the entire record.
Crash reports — only if you say yes. If Tack crashes, the next launch asks whether to send the crash report macOS wrote. If you decline, nothing is sent and you are not asked about that crash again. If you agree, we receive the report (a technical description of the crash) plus the app version. Crash reports describe the crash — not your documents, windows, or activity.
No usage analytics. No window titles, window contents, or screenshots. No browsing data. No advertising identifiers. No selling or sharing of anything with anyone.
Checkout is handled by Stripe; your payment details go to Stripe, not to us. We receive the email address you used at checkout, attached to your license, so we can help you recover a lost key. Stripe's own privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
Accessibility — required; it is how Tack arranges other applications' windows. Screen Recording — optional; only used to draw live window previews when you hover a tab. Both are processed entirely on your Mac; nothing they enable is transmitted anywhere.
